There is currently a new competition for Biosciences KTN SPARK Awards open, with funding for up to 12 new projects as a means to encourage new collaborations between the research community and small/medium sized enterprises (SMEs).
Projects must be in one of the four market sectors addressed by the Biosciences KTN, namely Domestic Animal Bioscience, Food Technology and Manufacture, Industrial Bioscience, and Plants & Crops, and the deadline for applications is midnight 18th November 2011.
In case you haven't seen the SPARK Awards before, they are small, fixed grants of £5000 (plus any applicable VAT) awarded to a research partner to tackle a problem relevant to a SME. These awards are intended to help resource small, confidence building measures between an SME and a research based partner that is likely to lead to a longer-term relationship.
