    Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center (GLBRC, www.glbrc.org) is one of three US Government Department of Energy funded centres positioned to be a worldwide centre of excellence for research and development of sustainable cellulosic ethanol and next generation biofuels. They conduct basic, genomics-based research to design the microbial and plant systems needed to realise the potential of biofuels.
