It has been announced that a Call for applications (pre-proposals) for transnational research in organic farming and food systems will be launched by CORE Organic II on 1 September 2010.
CORE Organic II is an ERA-NET, and is funded by the European Commission's 7th Framework Programme. It aims to improve co-operation between national research activities to enhance the quality, relevance and utilisation of resources in European research in organic food and farming and to contribute to the development and integrity of the organic sector. It does this by making joint transnational calls, selecting and initiating research projects, and establishing the framework for a strategic research agenda as a basis for long-term collaboration between the partner countries.
The funding of the transnational projects in this Call will be based on a ‘virtual common pot’ instrument. The funding principle is that each country funds its own research group(s), while it benefits from the research of the multinational team of the Project Consortia. Project duration is limited to a maximum of three years.
The deadline for proposals is 15 October 2010.
