Timber - Goverment Procurement

  • Friday 8th May 2009

As of 1 April 2009, the UK Government's timber procurement policy requires that all timber and wood-derived products be from sustainable sources. FLEGT-licensed timber is also eligible although it is not yet available on the market. All central government departments, their executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies must adhere to the policy, which covers all timber and wood-derived products such as paper, furniture and construction timber.
